This tax season, Chime teamed up with policymakers and national advocacy organizations to make filing more accessible and empower more people to take charge of their finances. The effort builds on Chime’s ongoing commitment to financial education—especially during Financial Progress Month®, our reimagined celebration of Financial Literacy Month that puts progress, not perfection, at the center.
As part of this initiative, Chime participated in events hosted by the bipartisan Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus—led by Representatives Joyce Beatty (D-OH) and Young Kim (R-CA)—and in partnership with Consumer Action, a national nonprofit focused on financial education and community outreach. Chime joined a bipartisan staff briefing that explored barriers and misconceptions around tax filing, highlighted free filing options and early return access, and discussed ways to use tax refunds to build savings, with the goal of empowering Americans with the tools they need for financial stability and long-term prosperity.
Together with our partners at Consumer Action, Chime also joined a webinar on tax-time savings strategies and shared how Chime is helping members navigate tax season with greater confidence. Discussions focused on breaking down common barriers to filing, promoting tax-time savings strategies, and expanding access to tools that help individuals build financial resilience.
“Tax season can be an important moment for financial empowerment, but only if people have access to the right tools and support,” says Meina Banh, Director of Public Affairs at Chime. “We’re proud to partner with leaders in Congress and advocacy organizations to advance solutions that promote long-term economic mobility.”
