Referral Extra Bonus Terms and Conditions

Chime’s Extra Bonus referral incentive is subject to the following terms and conditions. The Referrer may also qualify and receive the base account opening bonus monetary referral reward and $10.00 temporary SpotMe Bonus Limit increase, subject to the relevant terms and conditions in your Chime mobile app. See your Chime mobile app for details on the base account opening bonus monetary referral reward and SpotMe Bonus Limit increase.

Eligibility

In order for the referring Chime member (“Referrer”) to qualify and receive the mystery monetary reward cash value from $10.00-$10,000.00 (the “Extra Bonus”), all of the following eligibility conditions must be satisfied:

1. Referrer has a Chime Checking Account (“Account”) in good standing and provides their unique referral link to a non-Chime member (“Referred”);
2. Referred has not previously opened an Account;
3. Referred opens a new Account between 3/3/25 and 4/2/25;
4. Referred opens the new Account using the Referrer’s unique referral link;
5. Referred receives in the new Account a Qualifying Direct Deposit within 45 calendar days of opening the Account; and
6. Referred activates their physical Chime Visa Debit Card within 14 days of receiving a Qualifying Direct Deposit.

A Qualifying Direct Deposit is a deposit of $200.00 or more by Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) that comes from your employer, payroll provider, gig economy payer, or benefits payer OR a deposit by Original Credit Transaction (OCT) from your gig economy payer. Bank ACH transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, verification or trial deposits from financial institutions, peer to peer transfers from services such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo, mobile check deposits, cash deposits, one-time direct deposits, such as tax refunds and other similar transactions, and any deposit that Chime deems to not be legitimate are not Qualifying Direct Deposits.

Extra Bonus Offer

For eligible members, the Extra Bonus is a monetary reward deposited into the Referrer’s Account after the above eligibility criteria are fulfilled. The eligibility criteria listed above must be fulfilled during the participation period (the “Participation Period”). Fulfilling the eligibility criteria during the Participation Period is considered an entry to receive an Extra Bonus. The Participation period is 3/3/25 to 4/2/25; however we reserve the right to amend the Participation Period. The Extra Bonus values range from $10.00 to $10,000.00 per eligible Referrer after the above eligibility criteria are fulfilled. The amount of each Extra Bonus will vary and is assigned randomly at the time the Referred opens their new Account.

The number of rewards is dependent on the number of participants and value of rewards awarded. The cash value of each Extra Bonus could be anywhere from $10.00 – $10,000.00. Please note that the majority of participants will receive the $10.00 reward.

Chime reserves the right to increase or decrease the total budget allotted for this promotion or the duration of the Participation Period with or without notice to Referrers.  Odds of earning a particular reward amount are randomized and may be dependent upon the number of eligible Referrers and the amounts that they are awarded over time during the Participation Period. Everyone who enters during the Participation Period will receive a reward, but the specific amount received will be randomized and depend on the number of entries received and value of each individual prize. As more rewards are awarded, the likelihood chance decreases that your reward value is on the higher end of the reward value range. Rewards are limited; once we reach the total Extra Bonus budget value no additional rewards will be granted.

The Referrer will receive a mobile app push notification once all eligibility requirements are met. To obtain the Extra Bonus the same business day, the Referrer must navigate to the relevant in-app screen from the mobile push notification and complete applicable steps as instructed in the mobile app to both reveal the amount of the Extra Bonus and receive same-day payout of the Extra Bonus.  The Referrer has 7 business days after they receive notification to take these steps. In the event the Referrer does not navigate to the in-app screen and perform the applicable steps as referenced in the mobile app, Referrer will still receive the Extra Bonus to their Account within 10 business days of the mobile app push notification.

Limitations

Chime reserves the right to cancel or modify these terms and conditions or terminate a participant’s eligibility at any time with or without prior notice. Referrers should not utilize or create additional email addresses to gain additional rewards beyond the limit of ten (10) per calendar year. Referrers are not permitted to utilize technology such as a robot, script, macro, or other automated service to earn additional rewards. Chime reserves the right to disqualify any Referrer who attempts to earn a reward using any of these or other technologies for automated entries. In the event that Chime determines in its sole discretion that there may have been fraudulent activity or a violation of these terms in connection with this promotion, Chime reserves the right to either decline to grant any reward, or to rescind any reward. Limit one Extra Bonus per eligible participating Referrer. No purchase necessary to earn a reward.  Void in New York, Florida, Puerto Rico and where prohibited. This offer is not transferable, saleable, or valid in conjunction with certain other offers. Participants must be legal residents of the United States and at least 18 years old. Individuals employed by Chime Financial, Inc. (“Chime”), The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., their affiliated companies, subsidiaries, Chime’s business partners including the Dallas Mavericks, or advertising and promotion agencies, and members of their immediate family (parent, child, sibling or spouse of any of the foregoing) or persons living in the same household, are not eligible. The offer is only available for personal use and may not be used for commercial purposes. If you send your referral link to a Referred, you represent that you have the necessary consent from the Referred to send them any text or email relating to this offer. By participating in this promotion, you confirm that you will not send your referral link via text message to a resident of the State of Washington, and that you and the recipient may be disqualified from this and future promotions for violation of these rules.

Taxes

Credits of $10 or more will be reported on tax form 1099-INT for new members (Referred). If a Chime member receives certain monetary rewards that total $600 or more in one calendar year, this will be reported on tax form 1099-MISC as required for the Chime member.
